Get International Clients Sunday blog carnival

Get International Clients is about getting into different international markets.

This edition of the Sunday Blog Carnival looks at some changes in how the international market changed for this Christmas spending season.

Welcome to the December 14, 2008 edition of get international clients.

International Sales At Christmas

Most Americans plan to spend less this Christmas, of those surveyed, 55% said they would spend less. 39% said they would spend the same as they did last year. Only 5% said that they would spend more. Not a surprise in one sense, the economy has been better.

In the UK, a survey showed that the average family plans to spend almost £300 less on Christmas this year than they did in 2007 . On average, in 2007 a British family spent about £840 on presents, food, and Christmas decorations in 2007. This will drop to £550 for Christmas 2008.

One credit card payment firm predicts that UK online shopping will rise 42 per cent, despite drop in average transaction value. And that there will be minutes (yes, MINUTES) where people spend £1m.

In Hungary, during the lead up to Christmas, there will be as many shoppers in the toy stores as there were last year. However, they’re looking at the cheaper products rather than the branded toys and games. Hungary is looking at a drop in sales of between 12% and 15%.
