The one main reason why video marketing is a necessity for all online businesses. It’s viral. It is a key component to web marketing today. What makes short form marketing videos viral? They become viral for the same reasons as short movie trailers. Good viral videos always have special sound and motion effects.
Yes, special sounds and motions are what make videos viral. You need to add these special effects to your good video marketing practices.
Good video marketing practices also apply to international video marketing. We will look into implementing good cross cultural marketing to your marketing videos later in this series. Today we are just going to look at why special sound and motion effects are so important.
First let’s look at ways to make your video marketing viral.
Sound And Motion Get Viral
The most effective web video marketing has something special in its audio. This special audio feature can either be linked to the product or to the video. The special effects may be linked to the motion going on in the video or simply sounds viewers like hearing.
Sound and motion are part of the reason we see such a strong impact with the viral effect of Video Marketing.
Almost any new movie released today also has a special internet trailer. The video trailer is usually made in a format that can be viewed online. There is also a second, smaller version available, which can be downloaded and sent by email, or easily posted on websites. This is done to make it easier to create a viral effect.
Special Sound Effects
Movies are the best example of using special sound effects to keep viewers listening.
The latest action movie has explosions and dramatic car chases brought to life with sound effects. The funny line from the latest comedy is marketed to us to get us interested in going to see the movie. It is the special sound effects that sell the movie tickets and the DVDs.
Film marketers strive to make the 30 second internet trailers exceptional. So much effort is put into them, they can even be better than the entire movie.
Unexpected Use Of Motion
One technique of effective online video marketing is to have a small person appear on one side of the screen, in motion. It is not always obvious to the viewer at first, to see if this person is an image or a video.
The person on video can make a sales pitch, give directions on how to use a web site or tell us what to do next.
This unexpected motion gets the viewers attention.
Keep Videos Enjoyable for Everyone
Improperly used, videos can be annoying and drive potential clients away, so there are the basic precautions to take:
- Don’t automatically launch the video. Make it the viewer’s decision to start your video.
- Don’t cover your entire homepage with the video. Make sure your clients can still navigate around the video if they want to.
- Give the client a way out. Always have a button visible to mute the video and turn it off clearly.
Create Videos In Different Languages
A video is easy to edit. So it is possible to make multiple language versions of one video by simply dubbing the voice. The video does need to be appropriate for cross cultural communication.
Remember this option if it is at all of interest to you to have several languages on your website. Just as global companies create templates to use for multiple localized websites, you could create a marketing video template appropriate for several different cultures and have it translated as required.
Go Video
Take advantage of the rise in popularity of online video marketing. The process is not that difficult. If you decide to simply pay for the service, they are also more affordable than you imagine.
Determine where videos can help you. Videos can be used effectively in a variety of different places. Take some time to think of all the different options where video can work for you.
Make your videos. Especially if you have an idea that has not been done before. No one knows your market as well as you do. Your ideas to make videos work for you will probably lead to at least one good one.
Publish your videos. Place the video where it will help you the most to make your sale. Post your video on video distribution sites such as DailyMotion or YouTube.
Practice. Try new things. Make Video can work for you.
Go International Video
Once you have learned the ropes of good video marketing for your domestic audience, try creating videos targeted to your foreign markets.
If you think video will get you better results from your international market, then make sure you take full advantage of what video can offer you.
- Start with short marketing videos.
- Create one International English version for your Export Marketing and broad International Marketing.
- Adapt your marketing video to one culture at a time.
- Implement on a small scale first.
- Test results and improve your videos.
Use foreign language marketing videos as part of your international internet marketing plan to target a foreign audience and open a whole new part of the world to your products.
